Maker’s Mark became the world’s largest distillery to earn its B Corp certification — a significant milestone for the broader industry, as well as a sustainability benchmark for Kentucky’s thriving “Bourbon Country.” Maker’s earned the status through various ongoing initiatives including a distillery-wide zero-landfill initiative, and extensive solar installations across its warehouse footprint.

Flor de Caña rum is Fair-Trade-certified, runs on 100% renewable energy, and has earned a carbon-neutral certification. This brand has been in the business for 130 years, proving that it can comply with the required 300-odd labor, social, and environmental standards to earn the designation. The rum has been distilled using 100% renewable energy for more than a decade and the brand so far has planted 50,000 trees annually to help protect the environment.

The gin is ultra-clean, 6-times distilled, gluten-free corn base spirit provides the perfect blank canvas to allow our wonderful Californian botanicals to truly shine, which are carefully selected and sourced from sustainable organic farms, or wild foraged ingredients. At Ferrari-Carano, sustainability is part of our DNA. Since 2015, all 24 of our vineyards have earned the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) certification. In 2019, our efforts were further underscored at the Sonoma County Harvest Fair, which dubbed the winery the Sustainable Producer of the Year.

Crafted in the heart of California wine country using a mixture of the region’s grape varietals, Hanson of Sonoma has become an envelope-pushing role model within the world of sustainable small-batch vodka. The grapes, which are of course USDA certified, bring a sweet, deeply fruity note to the spirit while maintaining a buoyancy that lends itself to sipping neat. Hanson also offers a wide range of infused vodkas made with organic fruits and flavors that are free from any sort of syrup, concentrate or flavoring, including ginger and habanero.

El Tesoro Tequila composts all of its organic waste and lets 5% of its crop flower to ensure future crops and save the endangered lesser long-nosed bat, which pollinates agave plants.
